Ori Moore is a multi-genre pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger based in Austin, Texas. Driven by the rich music history of his home state of North Carolina, his music draws influence from jazz, blues, country, bluegrass, and more. He leads his classic country band Ori Moore & The Lonesome Rangers and his jazz band the Ori Moore Trio while studying jazz piano and jazz composition at the University of Texas at Austin's Butler School of Music.
In 2025, the University of Texas Jazz Ensemble performed Ori Moore's big band arrangement of Elizabeth Cotten's "Freight Train".
In 2024, Ori Moore was selected as the winner of the Dr. J. Douglas White Essentially Ellington Student Composition/Arranging Contest, including a cash prize, a lesson with the renowned Ted Nash, a recording session in which the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and a performance of his composition by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra 2024 Essentially Ellington Competition and Festival.
